Radar Player requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
Playing media
- Use the Files picker to open local media or link a folder.
- Open the Network tab to enter a direct HTTP or HTTPS media URL, connect to Plex, or start local Wi-Fi transfer.
- Use the player options to select audio tracks, embedded or imported subtitles, playback speed, and Picture in Picture.
Accounts
Radar Player itself has no account. Plex sign-in is optional. Online OpenSubtitles search is unavailable in the current App Store build; embedded, sidecar, and imported subtitles remain available.
Privacy Policy
Effective August 23, 2026
Radar Player has no advertising, analytics, tracking, or Radar account. The developer does not operate a service that receives your media library, playback activity, credentials, or saved locations.
Data stored on your device
Imported files, linked-folder access, saved network locations, playlists, playback progress, preferences, thumbnails, and downloaded subtitles are stored on your device. Radar Player does not upload this information to a Radar service.
Files, network addresses, and Wi-Fi transfer
Files are accessed only after you select them through Apple’s system interfaces. When you open a network address, Radar Player connects directly to that address. Wi-Fi Transfer runs only on your local network while you enable it, protects the session with a random token, and stores received files directly on your device.
Plex
If you choose Plex sign-in, Radar Player communicates directly with plex.tv to authorize the device and list your servers. Plex usernames, identifiers, and tokens are used only for app functionality; tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Media streams directly from the Plex server you select. Plex’s privacy terms apply to its service.
OpenSubtitles
Online OpenSubtitles search is disabled in the current App Store build. If enabled in a future build and you choose to use it, search text, language filters, an optional media hash, and selected subtitle identifiers are sent directly to OpenSubtitles for app functionality. Optional sign-in sends credentials directly to OpenSubtitles over HTTPS; Radar Player stores the returned username and session token in the iOS Keychain, not the password. OpenSubtitles’ privacy policy applies to its service.
Tracking and sale of data
Radar Player does not track you across apps or websites and does not sell personal data.
Your controls
You can remove saved locations, playlists, and media within the app. Signing out removes saved third-party sessions from the Keychain. Deleting Radar Player removes its application data according to iOS data-management and backup behavior.
